LVA joined Mayor Greg Fischer, Councilwoman Barbara Sexton Smith, Metro Public Art Administrator Sarah Lindgren, Metro Parks and a large crowd of friends and supporters at Metro Hall on Monday, January 29.
LVA coordinates exhibitions of local artists at Metro Hall, so on this night all gathered to pay tribute to artists CJ Pressma, Jenny Zeller, and Mitch Eckert. Also saluted were the participants of our summer program Picture Love, a partnership between LVA and Metro Parks that returns this summer!
Company OutCast is a theatrical and film-making group that emphasizes transparency and collaboration in its creative process, including writing, producing and casting decisions. It aims to produce bold, largely experimental works using inclusive, nontraditional casting with an focus on works that break gender, sexuality and race barriers in theater and film. Polina Shafran, Rachel Allen, Caitlin Clemons, & Marcy Ziegler, joined us in the studio Jan. 25 to talk about this ambitious initiative. The February Louisville Orchestra “War and Peace” concerts include the new collaborative work "Between Heaven and Earth," composed by Sebastian Chang, and as Chang noted in the score, “set to original oil paintings by Vian Sora.” Sebastian could not make it, but Vian was our guest on January 18, along with Michelle Winters from the Louisville Orchestra this week on "LVA's Artebella On The Radio".
