Julius Friedman’ photographs involve the nude figure in nature.  The land and body forms combine together to create imagery that ranges from abstract to reflective.  Landscape ranges from stretches of wheatgrass, bamboo, wisteria, ice and trees.  For this exhibition, he has chosen to print pieces on aluminum.

Devin Katayama’s audio piece, ‘Becoming Wisteria’, is both a reflection of the imagery produced by Julius Friedman and an abstract interpretation of the theme as a whole.  It involves real-time dialogue from the photographic sessions, along with personal interactions and sounds from the landscape.

Alli Wile’s piece is a live-recorded performance that will take place during the Artist’s Reception June 13.  Imagery from the landscape, such as wheatgrass and wisteria are photographed and projected onto the nude form in-motion throughout the allotted gallery space.  The recording will be produced live and will play on a loop throughout the duration of the exhibition.
