LVA Summer Art Camp Internships

LVA's Summer Camp Interns will work side by side with LVA’s Summer Camp Coordinator to help make our summer camp program a success! Interns will have a chance to get hands on teaching experience, learn to create lesson plans, and will find out what all goes on behind the scenes to make a summer camp program a success. You will experience unique teaching opportunities, working in art rooms and computer labs, creating artwork and activities in nature.  Skills required: good organizational skills, strong communication skills, flexibility, and a great attitude. We prefer some teaching or workshop experience, but it's not a requirement. LVA's Summer Camp internship begins on June 8th and runs through August 7th and will be Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-4:30PM for the 9 weeks. A minimum of fifteen hours a week is required. Interns also participate in departmental meetings and various educational programs, as well as attend LVA events. Interns must have own transportation and may need to travel from camp to camp in different areas of the city.

LVA Picture Love Internship

Deadline: April 19th

LVA's Picture Love intern will work side by side with the Picture Love instructor as well as the Director of Education and Outreach to help ensure the Picture Love program runs smoothly this summer! A strong media/video background is required for helping complete projects such as shorts for social media, documenting behind the scenes images, and collecting the footage for a mini-documentary on the project. Skills required: good organizational skills, strong communication skills, and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere and Photoshop. Past teaching experience is a plus. LVA's Picture Love internship begins in June and runs through August. The exact days and times are TBD, but it will be around 60 hours in-class room. This internship does come with a stipend. Interns also participate in departmental meetings and various educational programs, as well as attend LVA events. 

LVA MAP (Mural Art Program) Internship

LVA's MAP Intern will work side by side with LVA’s Outreach Program Manager to manage the MAP program over the summer!. Skills required: good organizational skills, strong communication skills, reliable transportation, and flexibility. Internships require a minimum commitment of fifteen hours per week for three months, during which time interns complete a specific project as well as daily assignments. Interns also participate in departmental meetings and various educational programs, as well as attend LVA events.

LVA Media Internship

Deadline: Ongoing

LVA's Media Intern will work side by side with LVA’s Director of Marketing and Communications to help execute various video projects relating to: visual art education, community outreach, and artist support. Strong media/video background required for helping complete various projects such as shorts for social media, mini-documentaries on specific projects, and more. Skills required: good organizational skills, strong communication skills, ability to work independently, reliable transportation, and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere and Photoshop. Internships require a minimum commitment of fifteen hours per week for three months, during which time interns complete a specific project as well as daily assignments. Interns also participate in departmental meetings and various educational programs, as well as attend LVA events. The media internship also offers a "fast track" approach where an intern could work full time for one month to expedite the internship.
