Printmaking 1  is an introductory course exploring traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques. Students will learn monoprint, collagraph, intaglio, and relief processes. They will print in black and white and learn the basics of colors printing. Creating editions as well as combining techniques in unique ways will help students understand their personal aesthetics. Looking at prints and learning to talk about technique and content are also components of the course. The goal is to create a variety of prints that can be used in their portfolios.
